STORMING J W - Ran a winning race April 11th, but just couldn't catch the winner. Taking a drop in class figure points from his Apr 11th race at Oaklawn. Based on that data, I will give this thoroughbred the edge. I think that this contest's shorter trip should help this gelding. This horse has increased his speed figs in each of the last two races. That kind of progress is worth taking a look at. The most recent speed fig of 65 is the best last race speed rating in the group. VALIANT MOVE - The Apr 18th affair at Lone Star was at a class level of (76). Dropping to a lower level considerably, so he should be in a good spot to win. Sub-par try in the last race at Lone Star was due to the off-going (he finished 12th). Should do much better in this race without the slop. I'm focusing on the class of this horse, and this one is the 'classiest' of the bunch.
Vulnerable Contenders: #2 HAILEY'S BUBBA (ML=9/5), #3 THUNDERPANTS (ML=9/2),
HAILEY'S BUBBA - Not probable for this thoroughbred to do much running with no success lately in a short distance race. THUNDERPANTS - This horse hasn't shown much effort in the last pair of events. Will be tough for this thoroughbred to beat this group off of that last speed rating. Improbable to improve enough to run a figure close to today's class rating, so put him on the vulnerable competitors list.
