Jockey and trainer milestone alerts, updates on prominent stakes horses, a Spanish-language section and a streamlined purchasing process are among the new features that have been incorporated into equibase.com as part of an overall redesign of the site that was announced today.

“Over the past year, fans have really responded to our expanded menu of racing information, handicapping products and services available on the site,” said Equibase’s marketing and communications manager, Rhonda Norby. “With the redesign of the site, we hope to enhance their online experience and streamline how they obtain industry news and racing and handicapping information.”

Norby said that equibase.com now hosts more than 80,000 visitors on a daily basis and that they range from novice fans to sophisticated and longtime handicappers.

The jockey and trainer milestone alerts that Equibase has provided for some time to media and track publicists are now featured on the homepage, along with updates on prominent horses and other important news.

In addition, the manner in which customers acquire premium products has been redesigned and is now similar to the way free information is accessed.

“As part of the site redesign, we’ve simplified the retail process so fans can enjoy a similar experience when purchasing their past performances and handicapping products as they do when accessing entries and other information.”

Products recently added to equibase.com include downloadable full result charts as well as Spanish-language race programs, which are part of a new area of the site presented in Spanish that also includes expert selections from El Grupo Hernandez.
