EQUIBASE TO RECEIVE LIVE TOTE FEEDS FROM AUTOTOTE Following the recent launch of a streaming results ticker on its web site, equibase.com, Equibase Company today announced that it has entered into an agreement with Autotote Corporation to receive a live tote feed from all Autotote locations in North America. "As the industry's official database of racing information, it is our responsibility to collect and disseminate information in the most efficient way," said Equibase Company chairman Alan Marzelli. "Clearly, having a direct feed from the Totalisator systems is the most efficient way of recording pari-mutuel payoffs and handle, as well as other data such as post times, late changes and scratches." "Now we will be able to further automate and incorporate new features, including live mutuel odds, into our growing list of information products available at equibase.com," he continued. "This will not only enhance the content of the information we deliver to the more than 25,000 users who visit our site each day, but it will improve the timeliness in which that information is delivered." Autotote chairman and CEO Lorne Weil saw the agreement with Equibase as another demonstration of the way in which Autotote was reaching out to integrate its technology with other leading industry organizations. "Autotote and Equibase are both basically in the business of collecting and disseminating the data which turn the wheels of racing," he said. "It's a natural for us to look for ways to interface some of our operations and streamline that process. I believe that new ideas and new services will come out of this agreement. In the end, the big winner is going to be the racing fan."
