The Equibase® Speed Figure tells you how fast a horse has been running in its past races with a single number. Its sophisticated algorithms are based on the horse's actual time in combination with other factors, such as the condition of the track. A horse running in stakes company might earn a 90 speed figure, while a horse running in a claiming race might earn a 60. The Equibase® Speed Figure has been equalized for different tracks, distances and conditions, therefore an 80 at Laurel Race Course is the same as an 80 at Philadelphia Park.

Entries

What is the price for entries? The entries are a free product of Equibase.

Why do I see two different formats for entries? Entries come to us in two different formats. The "early entry" file comes to us between 72 and 48 hours before the first race and contains the horse, age, sex, weight carried, jockey and the race conditions. The "final" file comes in between 48 and 24 hours before the first race and contains all the above information plus, the owner, trainer and morning line odds.

It's after the times you indicated and I still don't see the entry! While every track strives to get information in by their schedule, occasionally there are delays. Normally the information will be posted no later than mid-afternoon before the race day. Keep in mind that tracks on the West Coast will normally be three hours behind the East Coast so that will delay their filing of the information accordingly.

Are Race Programs available for purchase after the race day? No, the Race Programs are not archived and are not available after that day's racing.

When will Race Programs be available? The "early" Race Programs are built from the "overnight" file which comes in between 24 and 72 hours before the first race. The "final" Race Programs are generally posted no later than mid-afternoon before the race date. Keep in mind that tracks on the West Coast will normally be three hours behind the East Coast so that will delay their filing of the information accordingly.

What is the difference between Race Programs marked (early) and (final)? Race Programs (early) will not include Morning Line Odds, Program Numbers or Post Positions. For more information on these differences, please click here.

If I bought the Race Program marked as (early), will I have to re-purchase the Race Program once it becomes final? No, you will not need to re-purchase this Race Program. Simply go to our site and click on 'previous purchases' from the upper right hand corner of any page. Your Race Program will remain available until it's expiration date (72 hrs after the race date).

Are Race Programs available for any races except Thoroughbred races? Yes, Race Programs are provided for all types of races including Thoroughbred, Arabian, and Quarter Horse.

Full Result Charts

What are Full Result Charts? Full result charts are the complete results for the day's racing. These are available here for seven days. After that time, they are available through our ChartPlus® section for $1 per card or by subscription(see price information).

What is the price for Full Result Charts? Charts are free for seven days after the race, then they move to our ChartPlus® area and are available for $1.50 per card or by subscription (see price information).

Are there results I can purchase for personal use? We offer Downloadable Full Charts, in comma-delimited or XML format, which are machine-readable format results for use in spreadsheets, databases and programming. These results are designed for use in any software program which can use comma-delimited data. Downloadable Full Results are available for $1.50 per card or by subscription (see price information).

When are Full Results available? Results are available within 40 minutes of the race being declared official. Occasionally there is a delay, either in the declaration or the reporting of the full results. Equibase makes all results available within minutes of receiving the information.

If the final result for a result is very late, you should also check our cancellations page to see if racing was cancelled for the day.

Harness Products
Harness products and information is available through Equibase's subsidiary, TrackMaster, at www.trackmaster.com. If you are already a registered user of equibase.com you can use your Equibase Customer ID and Password at TrackMaster.

Equibase Spanish Language Race Programs and El Groupo Hernandez Selections are available in a Spanish Products location, Informacion En Espanol. By registering or logging on in Spanish, users can view some purchase pages in Spanish to assist with their purchase process.

In-Today List

What is the In-Today List? The list is a race-by-race listing of all horses, jockeys and trainers competing at any track on any particular day. You can search by track or day. From this page you can choose a Fan Friendly Race Program to purchase.

What are Quick Results? These results provide the first three finishers of the race and are available soon after each race has been run.

These results are not archived.

Why would results for a particular race not be available? Occasionally races are cancelled for various reasons. You can check our cancellations pages here. Occasionally there is a delay in the declaration of the race (we do not post results until the results are declared official). Normally, any type of delay such as this is resolved within an hour. If there is a significant delay in the posting of these results, please e-mail us.

Race Dates

What are Race Dates? Race Dates is a list of when each track is conducting their live race meets.

The Race Dates page is a complementary service of Equibase.

If you have questions or concerns about the timeliness of this information or would like to see your track posted on this page, please contact the track (usually the publicity department) and let them know you would like to see scratches/changes posted on our website.

Summary Results

What are Summary Results? A brief recap of what happened in the race, including the first three finishers with payoffs.

When are Summary Results available? Summary Results are generally available within 20 minutes of the race being declared official.

We do not archive Summary Results but they are available free for 30 days after the race.

There is no charge for Summary Results.

Top Carryovers

What are Top Carryovers? Top carryovers is a current list of all carryover pools from around the country. From this page, you can purchase the program for the next day of racing from that track.

Track Leaders

What are Track Leaders? Track leaders are lists of the top 10 jockeys, trainers and horses at any track by their number of wins.

These files are updated daily during the live meet for the track.

What is a Winner's Circle Selection? Winner's Circle is a product of TrackMaster®. TrackMaster®, a wholly owned subsidiary of Equibase, is a leading provider of electronic data to horse racing handicappers of every skill level. TrackMaster® products utilize Official Equibase® Speed, Pace and Class figures which can be seen in racetrack programs nationwide. The selections are developed on behalf of Winner's Circle by professional handicappers, who are bringing the highest quality selections and analysis of races to you at an affordable price. These handicappers are experienced in the area of the country they handicap, enabling them to maintain consistent standards of effective and profitable handicapping. What are Workouts? Workouts are the official timed works of horses, including the distance that was covered and a description of how the horse worked.

Workout information is provided by the individual tracks and training centers and made available free of charge by Equibase.

What is the Year-To-Date Leaders? It's a list of top 50 jockeys, trainers, owners and horses in the nation listed by both the number of wins and by earnings.

There is no charge for Year-To-Date Leaders.

Adobe Acrobat Reader

What is Acrobat Reader? Acrobat Reader is the most widely used software program for displaying printable pages on the internet. Created by Adobe, the Acrobat Reader is available free of charge here. Acrobat Reader is designed for products which will be printed and maintains a consistent look to the printed page regardless of the type of printer used by the individual person.

Why can't I get Adobe Acrobat to work? This is a question best answered by Adobe. They created the program and therefore, know best how the program interacts with different computer platforms.

I have WebTV. Will Adobe Acrobat work on WebTV? No. At this time, WebTV does not support Adobe Acrobat. For questions, please contact your WebTV supplier.

I can't download the Adobe Acrobat program! Again, you should contact Adobe for the best customer service on this issue.

I downloaded the Acrobat program but I'm still having trouble with the Equibase download! Occasionally customers who have a properly functioning Adobe Acrobat program will still have difficulty downloading Equibase products. This is often due to slow download speed. If you continue to attempt to download the product and get a percentage of the download complete before the download ends, a slow connection is to be suspected. Please contact your ISP for suggestions on getting a faster connection (often trying at an off-peak time will help). Often, right-clicking on the "download" hyperlink and saving the product on your computer, then opening Adobe Acrobat and opening the product with the program can alleviate some problems.

Why have you begun placing ad banners on the site? The revenue derived from those ads makes it possible for us to expand and improve the information on the site and continue to offer recent racing information, such as entries and results, to the public for free.

Availability of information

Early entry information is normally available 72 to 48 hours before the post time for the first race, depending on the track's draw schedule.

Final entry information and Programs are normally available from 48 to 24 hours before the first post time depending on the track's schedule.

Quick Results are normally available 10 minutes after the race is declared official.

Complete Results and ChartPlus ® are available 40 minutes after the race is declared official. If the results are not posted, you may want to check our cancellations page to see if the race was cancelled or declared a no contest.

If information is not available, please keep in mind that these are estimations and that occasionally tracks have delays in submitting information and occasionally information is delayed by Equibase by quality control issues. Additionally, please keep in mind that the hours that information is received may be affected by the fact that the tracks use local time for submission of data and not EST.

Scratches/Changes - is a service provided by Equibase to the individual tracks. Tracks may or may not choose to post the information on this page. For questions or concerns about the timeliness of this information, you should contact the individual track.

You can get information on individual horses on our In-Today list available from our homepage here. For pedigree and performance information on a particular horse, you'll want to visit www.equineline.com.

Information on individual jockeys

Aside from our top leaders and leaders by track, Equibase does not compile information on jockeys.

Incomplete information on the pages

If you are viewing pages via WebTV and receive the message that "the page is too long to view", please note that this is a known limitation of WebTV and you will need to contact your WebTV provider for assistance.

If races are missing, please check our cancellations page to see if they were cancelled.

If old information is posted, please make sure your browser is set to refresh with every page view or hit "refresh" or ctr-l "refresh" on your browser to make sure you have the most recent information. AOL users may need to contact AOL due to the fact that AOL maintains a server cache which may interfere with updating the information.

Log in trouble

If you input your customer id and password and get the message that your login was successful but are continuously returned to the login page, your browser is not accepting cookies. Your browser must accept cookies to access any restricted part of the site. For assistance in making changes to your cookie/security settings we recommend contacting your internet service provider.

If you input your customer id and password and get the message that your id or password is incorrect make sure you are using the correct id and password. Remember that only your equibase.com logon id and password will be accepted. Logon ids for Virtual Stable^®, the Daily Racing Form, Equineline or BRIS will not work. If you believe you have typed in the correct logon id and password but continue to have trouble, please email us at feedback@equibase.com.

What is Virtual Stable^®?

WebTV

WebTV browser does not currently support the use of Adobe Acrobat. All major browsers except WebTV now allow customers to view Adobe Acrobat pages. We are confident that this will soon be the case with WebTV.

WebTV also has an error which does not allow it to view long pages. The message you will see is "page too long to view". This error only occurs on WebTV and we hope they will have this changed soon. In the interim, we are currently looking at ways to get around WebTV's limitations on long page views while still providing a quality viewing experience for non-WebTV users.
